Suggestions Thread August

I suggest two new buttons on both the image edit and bulk edit screens.

The first would delete all pricing.

The second would apply the default pricing.

This would make it much simpler to remove an image (or images) from sale, or apply the default pricing to an existing image (or images).

Please offer an additional method of payment such as direct deposit!

Promoting color, size and style specific T-shirts, as an example my football team play in green, i can’t promote a regular fit green t-shirt as the default is athletic fit which doesn’t offer a green option, for adult male/female t-shirts etc could admin change the default to the style that has the most color options and allow us to promote the color we want to promote, customers don’t want to customise, they just want to tap and buy.

Please get a Dark Mode setting. My eyes are killing me!

Dark Mode also shows off the work thousands of times better!

This is a repeat, but here goes: I would love a slideshow button that would let me showcase my own images on mobile devices, laptops, tv's, or basically anything that I can open the app on. I would let it play on a local coffee shop's big screen.

Sean is not looking into another payment system in the near future

I would love to be able to select WHICH apparel items I sell. There are consistent problems with the T-shirts. They consistently get bad reviews, namely regarding the way too small size which doesn't match the size chart. So I would like to be able to not sell T-shirts. But the only way to do that is to not sell ANY apparel, and that frustrates me, since the other apparel items, especially the hoodies, are great. Wish I could sell hoodies and other apparel items but NOT the T-shirts until they start being reliable.

ps - am I apologize if this sounds like I'm complaining... but I felt the need to explain why I would like to be able to pick which apparel items I sell. And it just dawned on me, that if we could pick which items to sell this would solve the issue of designs not appropriate for babies and children.

When someone contacts us, I want there to be a VERIFY EMAIL box, and for the site to check that they typed the same thing. I've already had maybe 2 clients lost because they gave me the wrong email address. It would be neat if the site could actually verify the email is real, but for now just a double check because we don't have one now.

I just want to add onto that email thing. Would it be possible to have a spammer list? Something where would tell you who spammed us from this site. And if added, they would be ignored when they tried to mail out from it? I think that would be really cool.

Unless I'm blind and I missed it, for the Billboard contest, there should be a place where it says you can only vote 25 times (someone told me that was the limit). Everybody in the last one was very irritated to find out they couldn't vote for more unless they un-clicked something they had previously voted for once they reached that limit because nothing was stated at the top about limited voting.

Repeating Glenn McCarthy's suggestion from July:

'How about making it so that it is impossible for one or two folks to hog the Blogs section on FAA/Pixels blog listings page. Very irritating and disrespectful to others.'

For example, at 50 blogs per page: Today 1 person has 25 posts on page 1.

On page 3, 1 person has 28 posts.

@ Abbie I hate to be a squeaky wheel but in light of recent changes to PayPal business accounts I hope Sean will reconsider an alternative pay method.

I would like to suggest the addition of a “good quality” kitchen dish towel. I think it would do well here.

I second christina. Direct deposit couldn't be any harder, since the bank would deal with it. And it would cut out the middleman. So many have trouble with that site.

Guys, all i can say about the payment issue is he's said no
But please know that I'm pushing and pushing. However, as I've stated before, just demanding or asking for change doesn't work. Good arguments why a change should be made and an alternative is the only way to get through. I pass those on

I don't think anyone is asking for the whole paypal system be replaced, just an alternative method for when things go wrong.

The biggest reason I can think of that might make him listen is that he would get a lot more people signing up if they knew they would get paid. Parts of the world pay pal doesn't use at all. Larger sellers that had issues with paypal would sign up as well. And other pod's use direct deposit. Its a good way to stay competitive.

I would love an easy way to turn items other than prints on and off. I have an equal amount of items that I just want prints and that I don't. It's really a pain to have to go through and erase all the prices.

I would like to see time saving changes made to remove any multi-repetitive tasks.
For example, when I visit a group and want to use a filter to search for a keyword on one of my images, I currently have to select the "Key word" option (the default is artist name). I have to repeat this process with each group I visit. Being able to set the default choice for this would be a time saver, and very much appreciated.
Or any other little time savers to make life easier. : )

I like the notebooks FAA offers but it would be nice to offer a hardcover type journal also. Something a bit more substantial.

For Next Year’s BillBoard Contest,

Picture this:

‘SPIN THE BOTTLE’ concept, to be added, during the 1st phase, ~ as members enter their entries into the contest, for every 200th member, that person, gets to vote for 125 images, that they like best, while other members only can vote 25 times.

As of now, I counted a total of 3,075 members, that will give us about 15 members who has a chance to vote 125 times, = 1 vote per image.

This will help to bring recognition, to some of those great images, and help artists
- who do not have large families
- Their best friends can only be counted on one hand
- Their acquaintances who refuse to give away their email to vote, even though they have a FaceBook account. (and I know 7 who told me so)
- Who are not Social Butterflies, and struggle on Social Media Networks.

Plus, the BillBoard Contest, just got a little bit more excited, for our members.

Please consider it.

My suggestion is regarding our contact information- can we have an option for a newsletter or second website? I know many artists also use sites such as Patreon. Or can we at least have our current contact information display our links on our Pixels site?

I posted weeks ago about FAA ineffectively insisting the printers ensure they keep mat colors in stock, and how I couldn't fill drop ship orders as a result. I am STILL waiting and so is my customer. I am fortunate this is a repeat customer who is more than patient, because otherwise this would result in yet ANOTHER lost sale due to this specific issue, which predates the pandemic by years. I'm sure I'm not the only artist who drop ships framed art through FAA. There are now more than a half dozen mat colors unavailable. It seems to me insisting printers keep mat colors in stock at all times is a reasonable request and expectation and this is an absolutely ridiculous thing to throw BOTH our money away over.

When uploading an image I'd love the option to override the default selection for paper & canvas types, as well as canvas sides (mirrored, white or black sides).

For example I might set the default for matte canvas instead of glossy and white sides instead of mirrored sides. Other artists would make different choices. Many of us have purchased our own prints & know what looks best for our work.

Not sure if it's ok to repeat something I've suggested before but here goes...

When we allow cropping, I wish customers had the ability to adjust the crop. Oftentimes something important is cropped out because we can't make adjustments when selecting anything other than what FAA calls the "natural" shape (ie., horizontal or vertical shapes).

My Image thumbnails and collection thumbnails are all different sizes and vary on how many show per row.

But in My Favorites and Who Has Favorited Me, the thumbnails are neatly spaced, 4 per row.

Can the Image thumbnails (and collection thumbnails) be changed to show uniformly spaced and 4 per row?

Open up the keyword sponsorship (on external websites) option to all those FAA artists who are consistent sellers.

It would be great if we could see in the analytics section how many times an image sold.

The reason I think this would be helpful is because it would help us determine which images to promote, for example in a paid Pinterest ad campaign.

Would it be at all possible to allow editing of the “alt” and “title” tags in the embed link when adding new images or editing older images so it’s only got to be done once per image? It’s nice to have a title/credit blurb show up in a browser on a mouse-over…just one more way to get a little exposure. At present I’m editing those fields each time when posting “embeds” to discussion groups but some social media (e.g. Facebook) won’t let you edit the embed link when dropped in a posting without taking some in-between steps, so what people see on mouse-over is either a random message or nothing at all. Not a big deal…just a “drivability” thing that could save members time and boost exposure potential. Thanks!!!!

I know I have asked for this before but I would like to ask Sean to consider making it possible for members to be affiliates and earn a small referral fee for sales made by promoting each other. I really feel like the extra exposure that would be generated would benefit all of us.

I would really like it if the artists could see the correct image order, the same order as the public sees! It makes things very confusing the way it is now.

You cannot add alt tags to a social media post. Only the main link,.. not code

Please change the way the image pages are numbered on the Premium websites to be the same as on FAA. i.e. with page numbers 1 to 5 instead of just "next" and "previous" It would be so much easier to navigate back to the start and would be much appreciated.

I have put a "home" button in the announcement bar and that does take you back to the home page but if you were on page 10 of the images you have to press the "previous" button 10 times to get back to the beginning!

I think this has been suggested before in previous months, but I'd like to make sure it's still floating around.

For greeting cards, you can either buy a single, a pack of 10, or a pack of 25. But if you buy a pack, it's a pack of all the same image. It'd be nice if the buyer could choose a pack of 10 with up to 10 different images if they want (same with the 25-pack). So if they wanted, they could order all 10 of the same image (like now), or they could choose 5 different images and have 2 cards of each, or they could choose 9 different images with 1 card each of 8 of them and 2 cards of the 9th, etc etc.

And to make this more complicated, allow the seller to set an option whether they want to allow buyers to mix-and-match cards only from the seller's collection, or allow them to be included in sets from anyone on FAA. So a buyer could buy a pack of 10 cards with 10 different images, and 10 different artists. (NOTE: I realize this would make it much more complicated to calculate costs because we all have different markups, so I'd be happy if we just allowed mixing and matching within one artist... I just thought I'd add this as a bonus.)

Does FAA/Pixels sell any other products that come in packs? If so, I'd like to extend this suggestion beyond greeting cards to all pack-based products. I think this would help us all sell more of these products, and therefore help FAA's bottom line as well.

I would like to recommend if possible the requirement for the shipper to use studier shipping boxes when shipping prints/canvases or protect the item better. The boxes are too weak and flimsy IMO.

Now it seems they are ornaments, a lot of people rather have a magnet, as the use is more all year round

I like the fact that they double up and can be used on a xmas tree then later on a fridge or locker or whatever surface holds the magnet
