This group is for
landscape photography from the deserts of the south-western United States. Locations commonly include the states of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Southern California Desert, Arizona, New Mexico.
Regional and/or geographic locations include, but are not limited to, places such as the Colorado Plateau, Colorado Desert, Sonoran Desert, Mojave Desert, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Glen Canyon, Canyonlands, Monument Valley, the various Badlands, etc. etc.
PLEASE READ THE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES!!!
1. Please think primarily of
DRYLANDS with regards to the desert theme of the group. If your work features a body of water or stream, you must identitfy it.
2. PHOTOGRAPHY only please. Black & White or Color. Landscape and Nature only (
no cities, only historic man-made things, no people, no animals, no close-ups/flowers please!!!)
3. No over-processed images and images with 'artistic' filters (textures etc., see below)
4.
100% preview of images must be enabled5. Photos must withstand critical inspection for detail quality at 100% (see below)
Again: submitted photos should evoke a strong association with the general 'US DESERT SOUTHWEST / DRYLANDS' theme of the group!
MEMBERS WHO FAIL TO ADHERE TO THESE GUIDELINES WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP WITHOUT WARNING.TECHNICAL DETAILS & MORE INFORMATION
As stated above: you MUST enable the 100% preview option for your photos to allow inspection of the detail quality of your photograph. No matter how good your photo is, if it cannot be inspected at 100% it will be rejected. You should enable this option by all means, as a courtesy to potential buyers. And needless to say,
your photo should have sufficient detail quality to withstand critical inspection at 100%. After all, you want to sell a print!
Please
do not submit images that: have been heavily processed with artistic filters (textures, paint, etc.), overcooked HDRs, color key (selective color), low quality/low resolution. Please
read the discussion area, it contains further remarks on submissions, quality, etc.
Please
include location and further information in the description of your photo (and in your keywords, of course - be found!).
Group moderation will be tight and images will be evaluated for their artistry, interestingness, aesthetics and technical qualities.
Members who submit off-topic content (coastal images, flower close-ups etc.) will be removed without warning. (running this group is a labor of love for these landscapes; please respect the time I'm putting into moderating your submitted content.)
