Artist's Description

Standing watch over Casco Bay in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Portland Head Lighthouse basks in the last rays of the sun on a winter afternoon.
Normally when I visit Portland Head, my instincts tell me to go to one of the coves on either side of the lighthouse, where I can capture waves crashing on the rocks, adding more drama. But on this day, I decided to head to a bluff overlooking the lighthouse and shoot from there, capturing the cloud bank in the distance. The resulting image is quite a bit different from my norm.
