This piece is part of my series of zen watercolor paintings, the movement of Koi along the turquoise water brings about a sense of peace and serenity, almost like having your very own Koi garden to watch! They are a social, active fish, rarely keeping still and always swim in groups. They also live a lot longer than most other fish, the oldest Koi lived up to 226 years old! Little wonder that the Koi is a symbol of many good things.

Displaying carp is considered extremely auspicious in Feng Shui, they bring strength and prosperity to the family and symbolizes great success in overcoming obstacles. You can display images of Koi anywhere in your home decor, but they are most auspicious in the living room.
