A young woman takes a moment to stop at the dock, sitting at her ease while she gazes out at the mountains and lake of the Interlaken area of Switzerland. It is rare to find oneself alone in this spot, because the area, known for its beauty, is a destination place for tourists.
And while it is difficult to find privacy in a destination place for tourists, it is not impossible, and there are very rare, very precious times when we step far enough away from the crowd that we are alone, able to fully take in the beauty that draws people to the area.
The artwork, Visions of Switzerland, invites you to step out onto the dock – quietly, gently, so as to not break into the young woman’s thoughts – and spend time surrounded by the majesty of mountains, the incredible still waters of the lake.

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 13 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
