Artist's Description
"Slowing Time's Passage"
This image portrays a child (my granddaughter, Lauren Grace, at age 3) tossing fall leaves into the air. We all know how quickly time passes… As much as I enjoy watching my grandchildren grow up, there are many times I wish I could slow down the speed of this progression.
Like sand falling through an hourglass, here, I've replaced the sand with fall leaves. This child is shown tossing leaves upwards—back into the top of this hourglass—in a futile attempt to turn back the essence of time. Lauren Grace is now eight, going on nine, and continuing to mature into a wonderful young lady.
