"Barq's Famous Olde Tyme Root Beer - Since 1898! It's Good!" That's what we knew as children in New Orleans - our unique (it has caffeine) root beer and no one, no place, no way drank anything else - ever. We never asked for a "root beer"; it was only a "Barq's" - and I'll still order one exactly that way, "I think I'll have a Barq's". It's the NOLA way. Goes great with anything but best with a hot shrimp po'boy!
