This piece is one of my fruit salad series. My fruit pieces were all done as a way of looking at the passage of light through a thin slice of fruit in detail. I was trying to capture the translucency and luminescence of the pieces. In addition I used this as an opportunity to gain proficiency in a new medium. The thing I like the best about this media is the ability to leave the pieces partially translucent so that the underlying surface shows through. This is most obvious when these designs are printed on t-shirts.
