Description
Landscape with Ladder is an abstract watercolor of a scene with trees, water and a ladder. A soft line representing a ladder crisscrosses the painting adding a subtle bit of contrast. The stream in the foreground gently disappears into the distance which is filled with trees and hints of faraway mountains.
And thank you, TdPArts for this from a recent Image thread:
'With no analytics intended, starting with the formal resolve, let me say that the image is most inviting - it wants to be viewed. So your intentions to formulate a wonderful woodland scene is most successful. All of us who have tested our patience with w/c can attest to how easy it is to loss an image - but you have invented ways to keep this image viable all the way to a conclusion, Bravo!
And my suggestion of 'mythic' is not off the mark because directly in the path of the viewer, with no cat in the tree, or apple to be picked, we have this wonderfully tall, extraordinary, ladder carrying our eyes upward an off to the right - much as we might wish it to be had we told the story of a journey into the woods. And the woods are deep in suggestions and with only a little effort imagination wonders the three peaks to the left... or where a next story might arrive. Does that not suggest the idea of mythos or dreamlike imagery?'
Dog walkers pass by
Oblivious to their pets
Who is happiest?
Walkers on their phones
Oblivious to the world
They miss the wonder
The dogs are aware
Of their bountiful rich world
They see and enjoy
