The Grey Crowned Crane a bird in the crane family Gruidae. Found on the Savannah of Africa south of the Sahara. Although the Grey Crowned Crane has a breeding display involving dancing, bowing, and jumping, this one was doing none of that when I took his portrait. Beautiful as they are they have a striking resemblance to dinosaurs we see depicted on documentaries and school books, at least he did in this close-up portrait.
