Artist's Description

Norfolk Southern EMD Engine #1221 leads mixed freight manifest train 10Q through Conway Yard, located on the former PRR Ft Wayne Line in Conway, Pennsylvania. The yard spans the municipalities of Freedom, Conway, and Baden stretching about 7 miles along the Ohio River and for almost 25 years it was recognized as the largest rail freight yard in the world.

This locomotive is built by EMD, short for Electro Motive Division as it was once a division of GM or General Motors but is now a subsidiary of Caterpiller, is an SD70ACe built in 2019.

I am a photographer and graphite portrait artist. I specialize in shooting railroad, automotive, and fire apparatus but enjoy all types of photography. My primary camera is a Nikon D5. My photography has been used in advertising by emergency vehicle manufacturers and by local, regional, and national TV, online, & print news services. The majority of my current photography is done close to home in Western PA. On the drawing side, I do commission work for private clients.
