Detroit Miss P-51D Mustang Print
Cpt. Urban Drew
Credited as one of the few pilots, definitely the first, to shoot down two Messerschmitt Me-262 fighter jets on a single mission, Drew was flying "Detroit Miss" with the 375th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group of the 8th USAAF. The 361st Fighter Group was known as the "Yellow Jackets" for their unmistakable yellow nosed paint scheme. Flying "Detroit Miss", he was also credited destroying a Blohm and Voss Bv 238 flying boat on Lake Schaal in Northern Germany. Cpt. Drew was awarded two DFCs, 14 Air Medals, and was one of only two men to be awarded the USAAF Cross. Drew flew 75 combat missions and ended the war with 7 confirmed victories (6 air-to-air).
This fine art print includes an aged background designed from an actual World War II military map. A timeless design for any decor!
