I wanted to try and do some pieces that resembled certain types of comics that I'm into. The works of Frank Miller and Ed Brubaker and other artists and writers that create more noir and pulpy work. Shadowy and dingy. And I'd like to think that Johnny had more than one night where he contemplated in a dimly lit bar while having a smoke.

My style stems from a street art background while also implementing many fine art techniques and methods used in more traditional art. I am constantly experimenting with new mediums and processes that keep my work both original and also exciting for myself. The ideas that are most appealing to me are the ones I haven't seen done before, and the pieces that come from those ideas are the ones I am most fond of. There is no comfort-zone when it comes to painting for me, and I feel that helps keep my work fresh. -Bobby Zeik
