Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand Steuben, also referred to as the Baron von Steuben, was a Prussian-born American who served as Inspector General and Major General of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. This bronze statue and memorial for Steuben was made by Albert Jaegers, and it has stood since 1920 on the northeast corner of Lafayette Park, across the street from the White House, in Washington, DC.
