About Stefan Bleyl
Bleyl was born and grews up in Luebben, a town in the heart of the mystical Spreewald biosphere reserve located south-east of Berlin. Since 2009 he has been devoting his free time to painting and exhibiting. The growing demands of his art made it possible to quit his job in 2017 in order to fully pursue his calling to paint. Before he was working as a full time artist, he trained to be a Bossierer (repairer and assembler of porcelain figures) at the Meissen porcelain manufactory, the oldest one in Europe. In the course of his apprenticeship programme, he completed the traditional drawing school and took basic lessons in the art of moulding with Joerg Danielczyk, head sculptor at Meissen, and artist Maximilian Hagstotz.
