About Lonnie Christopher
Through oil on panels, Orange County-based L.C.Bailey transports his viewers to another world. Each of his paintings, while ominous at first glance, contains an alternate space as vast as the deep recesses of our minds. L.C. employs dark and natural hues to create a dreamlike glow, inside of which evocative and scratchy brush strokes swirl around as if they are trying to escape the surface. The atmosphere hangs heavy over oceans and in sparse landscapes, and any perceived calm is only the signal of an approaching storm.
