Artist's Description

The Maroon Bells are arguably the most photographed location in Colorado and it's easy to see why. I was fortunate that a dusting of snow coated the peaks the night before my arrival and the morning was calm. Timing is everything!

Guy Schmickle

Guy's interest in photography took hold in 2001 when he bought his first digital camera. Already an avid outdoorsman, he quickly discovered a passion for nature photography and immersed himself into self-study of both the technical and artistic sides of the craft. In 2007, he took a leap of faith and moved to southwest Colorado (from the frozen tundra of Minnesota)...giving up a long career in the software development industry to forge a new one as a professional photographer. Since then, his work has been published in numerous magazines, calendars, and advertising materials. Notable clients include Backpacker Magazine, Arizona Highways Magazine, Colorado Life Magazine, Smith-Southwestern Publishing, Norwood Publishing, The Wilderness...
