The beautiful state of Florida has been through a devastating hurricane and so much has been lost. We spent a year in Florida riding out some of the worst of the COVID lockdown. We spent weeks distancing and exploring all of the natural beauty that Florida has to offer. Beautiful nature preserves everywhere, we visited most in the state and some many times. And the beaches, wow!
Florida will recover, they have been through this before a time or two or three or four.......But for now, it's going to take quite some time to recover. So post only picture of Florida, tell us where it is. Include your memories if you want. Not just nature, but beaches, business, homes, activities, etc. Let's see what you have got.
Post just 2 a day. I know we have many Floridians here and they could have 1000s of images :}

Watching the wildlife was hands down out favorite thing to do in Florida and nesting season was awesome! Watching these giant wood storks caring for there young chicks was incredible. From nest building to the fledglings leaving the nest, beautiful.

@ Bradford, it's a good thing they decided to take it back to the garage instead of leaving it on the launch pad.

Going out to help my older neighbors clean up debris from hurricane Ian, it brought to mind the many Florida storms we've been through.
The thing that stands out is how our neighbors come together to help each other, every time.
I will never forget how, years ago, when I was a newbie in Florida, the old timers helped me face my first hurricane.
The original Juno Pier built in 1950 was destroyed in a storm and a new pier, bigger and stronger, was built in 1999.
A testament to how we rebuild.

"Osprey Watchers" by Patti Deters. An Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) family watches and waits for dinner to be delivered. Photographed in the Florida Everglades National Park. Please enjoy more of my (birds, outdoors, wildlife, travel) images at patti-deters.pixels.com.
I could re-title this "Waiting and watching for Ian"

"Miami Marina Maze" by Patti Deters. This photographed was taken from aboard a cruise ship in the Miami harbor near Tampa Bay. The height of the cruise ship gives a unique perspective to the many boats parked in the slips in this marina in this vertical crop scene. I also really like the teal green color of the water. Please enjoy more of my (landscape, transportation, travel) images at patti-deters.pixels.com.

Surfside on Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
We had breakfast every morning in the upstairs of this restaurant, on a balcony facing the ocean. We ate as the sun came up then walked the beach for about an hour before starting our day.
This restaurant and beach side bar is popular with tourists and locals alike. There are two stories of inside dining and outside dining on the second floor of the restaurant and around the bar at ground level between the building and the beach.
Live music at the bar is enjoyed in the evenings from sunset until late in the evening.

Under the Juno Pier

There are a few images of Under the Juno pier and what I have noticed in photographing various piers on both coasts, the water color is the same. Even the tones of the bridge are nearly identical.
