A pilgrimage to Israel would not be complete without being baptized in the famed Jordan River.
One of the highlights of my life was being baptized in these sacred waters. A life-changing experience indeed. What a privilege and honor to commemorate my precious Savior’s death, burial and resurrection. People come from around the world to be baptized here.
This photo was taken in November 2009 during my parents’ 50th Anniversary pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Even the seagulls like to take a walk along the beach at sunrise. These three gulls were out looking for their breakfast while wading through the surf. With the ocean waves in the background and the golden light from the sunrise reflecting on the shore it made for a great photo opportunity.

"Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep - Prayer" by Patti Deters. A sleepy little saw-whet owl settles down for a nap on a tree branch on a winter afternoon, creating the perfect backdrop for this classic children's night-time prayer:
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Guard me Jesus through the night,
Wake me with the morning light.
Amen

I caught all 5 of these images in the same adventure. I accidentally stopped the ravens from grabbing what they must have thought was an easy meal, by showing up to take pics of the ducklings. I only say accidentally, because I try to make a point to interfere with the natural flow of nature as little as possible, but in this case it turned out beautifully for me. The ravens complained and waited in hopes I would leave, but they flew off in search of an easier meal. These that just show the single ducklings are arguably the cutest images I have taken to date.
