Really would love to be able to price apparel items separately. This would allow me to sell hoodies if I want, but not T-shirts. It would also allow sellers of mature content to omit children shirts and onesies.

Requesting again that if we allow cropping of our images, the buyer has the ability to adjust the image so important elements aren't cropped out when ordering sizes other than the so-called "natural" size.

As a side note, this inability to adjust a crop has kept me from fulfilling print orders from my Etsy shop many times.

When you go into "Edit Image," there is a toggle switch for Watermark. I just learned that you can only place or remove a watermark upon upload, so now I'm confused as to why this toggle is even there. I'd love to either see that toggle removed to reduce confusion or fixed so that it actually removes or places a watermark.

Facial Tissue boxes (reusable)

I save my favorite colors that look good in certain rooms and refill them if I can't find ones I like. OCD I guess...but it would be cool to have the ability to choose your favorite artist's work to go on an acrylic (or whatever could be manufactured) one...or two or ten lol

Please get a Dark Mode setting. My eyes are killing me!

Dark Mode also shows off the work thousands of times better!

I would like to have the control and ability to turn the 20% sitewide off on my pro site. Because it doesn't effect the search if its off on that site. And I was so very certain the sale wouldn't appear there, but it did. I need to be able to control it when I want.

With that said, I would like to be able to simply turn it on so its not random when I want. Mostly because I don't want my sale and this site's sale to overlap.

I have read discussions re benefits of voting for your own work in a contest. Personally I feel I shouldn't be able to do that since this IS a CONTEST. IF we don't remove this ability, then I suggest we automatically assign a single vote to ALL entries. Main reason is on contests with 1000s of entries I have to stare at many many dozens of pages to find my own entry for me to vote for it. Time waste! Alternative is give artist the option to vote for our own when submitting an entry to a contest.

Lucio, you can find your contest images easily.

Open contest. Look at the heading “Overview” Click on the arrow beside it. This opens a drop down menu. Scroll down to “My contest”. Click on each of your images and it will take you straight to the page to vote on them.

Please make it easier to vote for images in a contest. Why not have thumbnails on a page with a box to vote for the image underneath? Too time consuming to scroll by single images with a "next" arrow. A page view would be so much better.

It’s a great day when you learn something new! Thank You Gill and Mike.

Mike, if this is more about selling and marketing, then my suggestion for automatically adding a vote for merely joining would benefit ALL.

Could FAA please tell us if the 20%-off pop up sales now apply to our premium sites? My intention isn’t to complain. I’m simply asking if the policy has changed. In an earlier post from Mike Savad he mentioned the 20% discount was applied to a sale through his premium site. I thought only the holiday sales applied to the premium sites, not the 20%-off pop-up sales. It would be helpful to know if the policy has changed.

Thanks.

For clarification, I looked up Abbie’s post from a year ago explaining the site discount programs:

Site Discount Programmes Explained
https://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=6167995

Here’s what Abbie wrote:

“Right now, the sitewide discounts that we're running are only running on the main sites (i.e. FAA and Pixels). They don't affect the white-label websites. As we get closer to the holiday season in 2021, we'll start running discounts that do apply to the white-label websites just like we did in 2020. If you opt out of this discount program, then you're opting out of all discounts on the main sites and the white-label sites.”

I would really appreciate it if we could have a button for turning products on and off. I have an equal number of items that I want on products like pillows, etc and items that I don't want available on those items. It would be much easier if there were an on / off button instead of having to delete the prices every time. - Thank you!

I really like Karen Rosenblatt's suggestion for page views of contest images.

I see that now our merchandise is having time-limited discounts on our PREMIUM sites!

Please eliminate the discounts from the Premium sites and let it be up to the artists.

That would be nice if

The square of "Profile Picture" = same size = with the square of "Collections"

I have noticed that some people from other countries do not realise that all markups need to be added in US$

They see that they can change the currency to that of their own country and expect that they can then add their markup in their own currency.

I think it would be helpful if on both the default settings page and on the upload and edit pages there was a reminder that all markups must be added in US$

Re Sharon's suggestion of an on-off button for individual products - I have the same issue, as some of my older photos are too small for duvet covers, shower curtains etc. I wonder how easy it would be to implement a second set of default prices that one could choose on appropriate images? Then one could turn off the unwanted products in that alternative list. Much more user-friendly (for me, anyway) than using on-off buttons on multiple products each time

It would be great if on our premium sites the Sales Sheets included ALL of the available items with prices (puzzles, pillows tote bags etc.) instead of just wall art and greeting cards.

When in edit mode and view mode (after a photo has been uploaded), would it be possible to have the "Description" field auto select the entire text when you click inside the box? Similar to how the "embed" field does? When posting on SM, I usually copy/paste my description from FAA and having the full description auto selected would help speed things up. Thanks!

To change the numerical order of our images right now we have to first page through our portfolio and find the image to edit the number.

I would be like to be able to search for a specific image and from that image's main page see what its current numerical placement is in my portfolio and be able to edit that number to move it to a new location.

Thank you in advance!

Would be great if everything posted as newest to oldest automatically when someone posts “clicks, likes and favorites” threads

Can we have a monthly,

A.i.-generated Art Contest, by/from FAA,

on various topics/subjects, for photography, digital, hand illustration/painting, etc.:

- still life
- minimalism
- abstract
- architecture
- Moon
- The Golden Hour
- Portraits
- Pets/animals
- landscapes
- seascapes
- Night Scene
- Black & White
- Wildlife
etc.

And, if possible, an automatic, banner/statement on the Winner's Art page, example: 'Congratulations, on 1st Place Win, out of ### images, in the Fine Art America, A.I.- Generated Art Contest ~ Wildlife Images!'

I think this would really spark interest with our members. And, they would be encouraged to do proper tags.

But still keep, 'Create A Contest', for members to do. I like hosting & creating such contests.

Hi Abbie and everyone working in FAA! Thank you very much for all your work!

I was thinking, wouldn't it be a great idea if in the process of uploading a new image, the artist was able to customize the frames if he wishes to do so?

I mean like customizing the other products, so it will be presented like that.

Anyway, you know best. Thanks a lot!

Wondering if it is possible to create an online "gallery" with rotating exhibits of member artwork?

If you recall Art Basel Hong Kong converted to online during the pandemic and was almost as effective as in-person showing - their sales dropped but they still made sales.

I've offered to help several local curators with this by creating a virtual gallery using my architecture software that could have blank walls, and the curator could then mount a virtual show that you could tour in a web browser.

It might need some gaming software so you could tour the artwork...I live in Orlando with a lot of EA and other gaming programmers, so I know I could find a collaborator.

What do you think?

Richard, one can only post 1 idea per month, as said above:

I have long wanted the option for a desk engagement calendar, much like John Fielder's, Tim Ernst, or Sierra Club creates. If not, does anyone have a publisher that offers this. I'd like to make my own instead of buying from other photographers.

Can we please add an image-level toggle button for each image we offer that basically prevents the Bulk Pricing editor from overriding any of the pricing we have set for that image? I have a few images I would like to offer as licenses only, editorial licenses in fact, and its just not appropriate to be selling them as prints, or products. It actually an issue I have mentioned before, and its pretty much prevented me from using the licensing feature at all, unless I have a temporary case where someone requests one from me.

If I put a thousand such images up, it would simply be to much work to have to go back manually to fix them each time I make a bulk price edit change that impacts everything else.

I can imagine others would find this useful for lots of different reasons.

As of late, we have had an unusual number of new people asking how to sell originals on the site and if they sell very well. We all know the answer to that.

I suggest Sean set up a system to broker these sales and take a commission on the sale. This has come up before and I think I remember being told at one time that it was in the works, or maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.

eBay, Bonanza, esty, and others get this done and make a nice profit from it.

I use the existing system to sell signed and numbered limited editions. I used to sell one or two a month, even as cumbersome as the system is with people having to call or email to make the purchase. I have not replaced the ones I sold with new products, so I don't sell as many as I used to, but I would offer more if FAA allowed them to purchase direct.

Some kind of stipend program so artists can bring in funds aside from sales. Some artists are very dedicated and hard working. How can they be monetarily rewarded for it. No matter how much you try to teach marketing and such the truth remains that some are just not getting anything from the market. So why not create funds to be allocated for participation for doing other things aside from sales.

It's a print on demand site. Artists can earn money other ways doing their own thing off the site. We sell prints

Yes it is however the site includes contests, groups, discussions and such so it's a thought about adding another type of group to the mix

Many members have life situations limiting them and art is the best fit for them. It's a membership of artists gathering here and I see more than POD in this site. The curator admins do alot so they cant become part of the faa team that gets paid. Lots of jobs making a POD site work. Do the moderators get paid

Inactive Groups:

...I just "unjoined" a bunch of groups due to their inactivity in a long time.

Can these groups, if possible, be marked "Archived" and made so new members can't join, but our previously featured artwork is still showing?

Maybe it would be time to include an AI option in the upload choices for artwork category.

I would like to see all of the framing options in one drop down menu.
I don't like how it defaults on just the most popular options, then you have to click on a color of choice to see those additional options.
If a customer clicks on the frame options drop down menu, I want them to be able to see all available frame options just like you do for the mat colors.
In addition the yellow. gold, copper/bronze, brown, light brown, orange options..... there are repetitive colors and in some cases incorrect colors.... IMO there is no need for these separate color categories.
I think it would be best to have all of the framing options in one drop down, not listed in sub categories of color.
Thank you!

I would like to suggest that since most members use several devices from different computers or phones for their photography, administrators should have the ease and capability from choosing their avatar for representing a contest to any image that is already uploaded to their web site. This would save an enormous amount of time in trying to find the image representing the contest, remembering which device the original image is downloaded to and changing to the correct smaller digital size to represent an image for the contest. Would be so much easier...

Can we offer FLAGS? About the same size as beach towels....people ask me for them ALL the time and so far none of my POD sites carry flags...FAA/Pixals could be the trend setter....

Set a limit on the number of times that an individual can post on the blog platform. Currently the same individuals continue to post several times on the front page. There are only 50 spaces available on each page. If a person is posting up to 9 or 10 times on the first page, they are dominating about 25% of the page. Twice is plenty. This would encourage a higher level of blog writting . And let's face it. It's just good manners.

Inspired by something said in the "Social media and self-promotion" article shared elsewhere on this forum, could we get a LinkedIn button (alongside Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook) to share our work to a LinkedIn account?

Currently, the order of the groups I participate in are how recently I joined (most recent in front). I would like to set the order myself according to how often I visit/participate in these groups.

I see questions about the differences between posters and prints - It would be cool to have a bigger difference.

Perhaps sell posters with no white boarder and offer a poster frame - I used to see them, a 2 plastic material sheets that has plastic edges that just slip on and a simple stick on thing for hanging. Just saying - people have asked.
