This one is my favourite of 3 entries and promotes Magical Moments. Creating magical moments and great memories is something i always strive to do when on holiday and also when i go on a walk with my other half.
This image shows a romantic beach walk as the sunsets.
I would love for my image to win because promoting, creating magical moments and memories are the ultimate joy in life.
Thanks for taking a look.

Hi all, I started with only one image for the contest.
When browsing through my images, I tried to imagine them on a billboard. A horizontal image that can be cropped, beautiful scenery, and nice colors. Something that hopefully creates a positive mood when looking at it through the car window on the way to work ;-)
Every vote on this one is highly appreciated (only if you like the image)! Would love to win one more of this Px shirts :-)

Fantastic! This thread is exactly what I need... I LOVE the Billboard Contest. Thank YOU for hosting it annually!
In fact, the Wide Format WFPPP Group began as the A4B Art 4 Billboards many years ago, to learn how to size artwork for ArtPop Billboards in my community, and then they wouldn't allow me to enter across the river... So I started A4B and now it's WFPPP... To encourage WIDE format artwork, photography & triptychs on billboards, horizontally or vertically... The standard is 30x10 for products here on FAA & good standard for billboard sizing & competitions...
I'm proud of achieving over 385k views of my creative photography here on FAA. Though I do not have a tribe of followers that go on FAA to vote for my creative works.
So I just posted: Butterfly Abstract Wide, is an architectural photographic abstraction. I just place in the FAA Leader board, Top 50 artworks in the Unique Digital Abstract Contest...I'm open to your thoughts, feedback, seek your views, clicks, comments, social media sharing & votes!
I have also encouraged a few fellows that I'd like to see their artwork on the 2022 FAA Billboard as well as their work be representative of work that I'd be proud to see nationally recognized. I know that encouragement matters & they have either entered &/or considering.
Q: What is the ARTIST dimensions side of the shared Billboard 2022?

Aurora borealis aka the northern lights is an unforgettable experience for sure. During my road trip around Iceland I was lucky enough to view the northern lights more than once.
In this photo you can see the northern lights dancing in the night sky over Godafoss waterfall.
This is my only entry in the contest. If you like my image any vote is really appreciated!

Book houses: A street in a fairytale town made of houses created with old books. Surreal photography and photo collage.
The pictures used to create this village with the architectural details are from my different travels all around the word. It took several hours of work and fun to create this image celebrating the beauty of old books and the power of reading and imagination.

Hello everyone! I submitted 3 entries. I know, sometimes I think big :)
Anyway, my first one is THE HEART AND ITS COLORS. It's a beautiful, creative and colourful digital painting of a heart.
Every nuance represents the complexity and the richness of our emotions.
I chose it because the heart is probably the world's most famous symbol. To me, it's also the most beautiful one. Even just a simple heart can say a lot...

OK, let's go to my second entry, MY DAILY VITAMIN SEA. It's a creative painting, I chose it because it talks of me and of what gives me energy:
The ocean and the sun at my favourite time of the day, at sunset, when the sky fills with magical colors and becomes like an artistic canvas. And the blue sea fills with golden reflections.
It's a bit different than other normal seascapes, I realize that. But this is the beauty of creativity: it's not ordinary.

And what do you think about my third entry, SUNSET OVER THE COLOSSEUM?
Link to VOTE:https://fineartamerica.com/contests/billboard-contest-2022.html?tab=vote&artworkid=44743838
I chose it for many reasons.
This iconic symbol of Rome, in Italy, is one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. It's an amazing piece of history right in the middle of a city. It's an impressive popular attraction.
After being misused, as we all know, it was then left in an abandoned state for quite some time, so much so that it was even used as a source of materials to construct other buildings. What we see today is only 1/3 of its original size, also because of an earthquake.
It's interesting that inside it's like a jungle: the scientists are studying the more than 350 species of plants that have grown spontaneously!
It was built in only 5 years (from 75 to 80 dC), it has about 80 different entrances and inside there is even a villa (built for a family while it was in disuse).
Gigantic umbrellas to protect the audience from the sun and even first kind of lifts could be used!
It could also become a huge pool thanks to an engineering system that would fill the theater and let the boats go inside, I'm not sure how.
Thank you again for your kind attention!

I have entered this image into the Billboard contest. It is called “Oriental Spa”
The sun is shining through exotic delicate yellow and orange orchid flowers with crimson centres on a delicate green background. The orchids are reflected in the gently rippling cool waters of the oriental spa.
This lovely colourful image would look very eye catching on a huge billboard.
It is also a wonderfully calm and relaxing image to enhance any room in your home. Time to sit and daydream!

Want to see Molly, the goatling, looking down at you from a billboard? She was born onto my smallholding a few years ago, the daughter of one of my "girls", and now lives in the northwest of Ireland on another farm.
The image is my favourite among my three entries and best suited for a billboard. Not only does she look straight at the viewer but the square image can also be cropped to fit the billboard. This is what it would look like.

In the previous Billboard competitions, there was no winner with an abstract style image.
I believe it is important for the contest participants, all FAA members, and any viewers to know that the diversity of top images in Billboard competitions could be expanded.
My only entry in Billboard 2022 competitions is an abstract image, which had already won 1st place in one of the standard FAA competitions. I think this image is worth your vote.

Like Val I don't have too many people I can hit up for votes but I entered anyway because it is a cool contest.
I was out bird watching near a stand of wild trees that edge a field near me and this cute little one landed about 6 feet from me on a bare branch. It hopped around the branch and changed direction, so I was really happy to get this close up shot of this sweet little Carolina Chickadee bird. I love the way its feet grasp the thin branch.
Carolina chickadees (Poecile carolinensis) are small birds that are black and white and have a peach toned belly. They are most common in wooded areas and the forest edge. They can mate for life and sometimes use old woodpecker holes for their nests. You can see these birds in the southern portion of the United States and sometimes bird watchers mistake them for Black-capped Chickadees as they look almost identical.

A Rose flower in my mother’s garden. It is a pretty shade of purple. I processed the image with a slight illustrative technique and a painterly style. I gave it canvas texture as well for an artsy elegant design.
Roses can symbolize many things. Purple roses mostly tend to represent enchantment. Also, they can portray love at first sight. They are known as regal with a royal ambience. They are a rare color tone of roses, so it is really a treat to see them growing in my mother’s planter garden.

These lilies were so colorful, and I like the bunched-up bouquet of them in this image. I photographed them where only flower and stems are in the close up. I processed the image in an illustrated and painterly style.
Lilies have many varieties and colors. Some are called day lilies because the flower blooms for just one day. They are a perennial plant in the genus Hemerocallis. They bloom in the summer season in most areas. The great thing about these flowers, besides their striking beauty, is that they are very drought tolerant.

Blue and Green Trees is an abstract watercolor based on a short story from fellow artist, Philip Tripi: He wrote: 'I once was the color blue then one day I fell upon a block and turned green than all of my world seemed so colorful , happy and gleeful. I am now many more colors than just blue.' The blue trees on the left are all sad until they turn to their right and become happy, green trees with dancing rainbow flowers in the background.

Flowing Guitar is an abstract watercolor. This guitar has colorful frets on the neck and is ready to play for you. It was based on an x-ray of spinal vertebrae -- can you see the vertebrae? Six Women is an abstract watercolor of six women in a circle. The background color and triangular shapes reminded me of a sweet potato pie. They are wearing long, flowing dresses. They are going in a circle, getting nowhere. It has been interpreted as a flower with six petals. Maybe it is the medieval wheel of fate. Maybe it's seed pods. Six Women is part of my Long Flowing Dresses Collections. What do you see?

This is my entry that seems to be getting the most votes so I think I'll promote it. A great blue heron braving the turbulent water coming out of the dam. It was amazing to watch how the heron stayed focused as waves of water splashed around. This photo was well received on my social media channels with several people remarking it looked like a painting.

A billboard is meant to make a quick impact. My Billboard Image Submission #1 is iconic and recognizable in order to make a quick and memorable impression on a passerby.
This is 'Lighthouse in Maine', my rendition of the most photographed lighthouse in Maine. This art has proven the test of time in my multiple portfolios and is even the featured image on worldatlas.com for Portland Head Light, Maine.
Maine was my vacation muse since childhood thanks to family road trips to remote camps in coastal regions. I created this photograph years later while on a layover in Portland during my career as a flight attendant. To know Maine is to feel at home with its lighthouses, rugged coastlines, and blue waters. Art should feel like home, too, a good feeling to come from a billboard!

The youth are our future leaders, artists and problem solvers. Let's use Fine Art America to build up young adult community with a billboard that invites strength of character and body!

My 3rd entry is a Mothership and it’s reflection over the deep blue sea. Not only is blue my favourite color, but i love all things UFOs.
The reason i chose this one for the billboard contest is someone contacted me on twitter asking if the original was for sale, i explained there was no original and that i only do digital art, but i take from that approach that there is someone out there that likes what i create.
I’d like this image to be featured on a billboard because UFOs are not only relevant, but one day we will see this scene for real, i believe anyway.

Diamond 💎. Art is like a diamond. Just as the special arrangement of carbon atoms creates a diamond, so colors and shapes conjure up the diversity of artworks.
This painting is minimalistic and that's what make it apart. Simple structures, harmonious colors.
Sometimes we need clarity and structure in life and above all beauty and lightness.
I named the artwork ‚Diamond‘ because it shows that it often doesn't take much to create beauty.
Best wishes to all artists ❤️

I submitted my "Comic Book Colors 2" to the 2022 Billboard Contest because I believe it will make a great eye-catcher, drawing attention not only to my work, but to the greater good of FAA or Pixels. I love this site for its fabulous community of artists and for the outstanding products it offers. FAA is the only place I was able to get a specific piece of work and I got it for a reasonable price. My first entry is an example of what I like to do best, Surrealism. In this image I photographed one of my cats and a little toad I found in my yard. I put them together in this silly, manipulated composition. The cats on the fence are tired of being bothered by the toad as all the crocker wants to do is sing, and the kitties just want to sleep. It would look great on a billboard because it is so out of the ordinary, you just have to look.

My second contest entry is a photograph I took while visiting Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Smyrna, De. USA. It has been color enhanced and has a beautiful pink vignette to bring out the blue of the sky and the white of the egrets. These beautiful, big birds were plenty around the marsh but the park also has other animals as well. It was a lovely day spent capturing the different birds and then getting home to make the images into art. This photograph would be wonderful on a billboard especially if placed somewhere in the state of Delaware.

My first entry in the Billboard Contest, came about during a trip to the beach. Standing on the end of a pier, with the fishermen, we watched a sailboat head out into the ocean. The water was rough from high winds near the pier and getting worse as the sailboat headed out. I had my camera, as I had been taking photos there of the sun setting. My original goal was to capture the light in the sky and on the rough ocean. Someone yelled and pointed to this boat heeling sharply to one side. I started photographing the boat and it then turned and leaned way over into the water. It was a scary moment for us at first!
The man told me it was "heeling over into the strong winds and high waves". Heeling is the term used for when a sailboat leans over port or starboard and counterbalanced by the sailboats keel or crews weight distribution We watched it, and I found I got some really good captures, but pretty far away. I edited the image and did illustrations of it, then painted it some and then digitally enhanced the image.

"Sleepover with Friends" is my first entry. On the surface, it might seem an unlikely candidate for a billboard, but it's one that almost always gets a second look and an "awww" because so many can relate. Viewers either think of their own childhood friends and dreams or of those of their children or grandchildren. Even though I've asked people to vote on all three of my entries on my Facebook page, this is the one that immediately got more votes than the others and it has stayed out in front.

In my opinion "Empty Cages" is a good billboard candidate for several reasons. It's graphic and relatively simple, so the viewer can take it in at first glance. The color palette is equally simple - bold, bright, and eye-catching primary colors. And it's not hard to see the birds flying out of and away from the windows as symbols of freedom.

I also picked "Barbara's Birdhouses" for its colorful palette and graphic simplicity. I think it's a happy image that could work as well on a product - whether puzzle, mug, t-shirt, tote, or pillow - as for wall art; as well in a sun room, dinette, family room or office as in a child's room. In its cheerfulness, it reminds me simultaneously of spring and summer and of the promise of those seasons.

My second, and last entry into the Billboard contest is a spectacular sunset on the ocean, and beach. This is my picture that has been digitally changed using AI. The colors came out in an amazing way. The sky has a mix of colors some of which show up as reflection in the ocean. The water looks cool, and a nice place for a swim.

Here's my Billboard entry 1 that I just posted: Butterfly Abstraction Wide by GJ glorijean
Thanks Mike B for the lagniappe!
Butterfly Abstraction wide, is an architectural wide photography with plenty of luck captured on St Patrick's day at Czig Meister tap room out in the cold biergarten. I transformed the photograph into a colorful butterfly wide format. With the FAA Billboards going up in Autumn/Winter this photographic abstraction as colors of autumn, and also looks like a holiday tree topper emitting light from above! It brings a glowing light to the darker months with a festive ambiance.
It'd be an honor to be one of the 20 representative member artworks appearing on the FAA Billboard 2022. We've all been in a extensive period of covid, variants and pandemic... This imaginary butterfly, tree topper, and glowing light becomes a metaphor for transformation and hope. It brings light to the night, and colorful hues by day. It would soar above the highway somewhere in the NYC-Philly-LV metro as I'm in a rural, Appalachian foothills area of NWNJ about an hour from these 3 metro areas.

This is a photograph of a great egret - Ardea alba - standing in and reflected on the water. I named it Argent Mirror because of the mirror image of the bird and the silvery look of the water. One of my most popular images and when printed on canvas many customers have at first thought it was a painting.

When things come together as they should, in that perfect moment of realization, there is an explosion of pure bliss…beauty expressed.
Whatever you focus on wholeheartedly with openness, persistence and patience eventually will come to fruition. What is it though that we are all searching for that will bring us to that sense of wholeness that we want to go on and on? Perhaps it is in the realization that in this moment, it is enough, it is everything and nothing more could ever be better…if it is shared with another who knows what it means to love.
With art, artists strive to express a thought or an idea to others. A work of art that brings not only beauty but, inspiration and joy! I feel this artwork would be stunning on a billboard and inspiring for both collectors and other artists as well, that if they saw it on a billboard, they may be led to the Fine Art America Website. Attraction at a Distance and Human Connection
This symbolic mythological creation embodies "attraction at a distance" in a dreamlike state. Moths are attracted from a distance. Iceland attracted me from a distance to it's raw nature. Hot springs are central to their human connection. The song "Isobel" by Bjork inspired my sculptural piece that has been digitally combined with my images of the Icelandic landscape.

I've entered three images but this is the one I am promoting the most. It is a sunrise photo taken on Galveston Island, Texas with a view of the Pleasure Pier in the distance. Thank you, Abbie, for providing this space for this purpose.
"Comic Book Colors 2" is a tribute to the Grateful Dead and the title is a reference from "China Cat Sunflower": "Comic book colors on a violin river crying Leonardo; Words from out of a silk trombone." The psychedelic color pattern was derived from a floral motif and rendered to look tie-dyed.
If my work can bring attention to this wonderful company, I would stand on a rooftop and shout it out. But I will settle for a billboard to do it for me.

A colorful abstract patchwork "quilt" of warped tiles in many shades of the color spectrum all swirled loosely into a flowing scene that comes close to blending and melting together yet somehow each fluid color block retains it's individuality. There are dual qualities of chaos and serenity in the wavy flowing patterns and warm and cool colors side by side.
This is my bestselling abstract artwork to date and I think it would make a great winning image on a billboard to brighten up people's day as they are caught in the rat race and traffic jams of everyday life going to and fro. If someone were depressed or angry or stressed out behind the wheel, I would love it if they could look up and see this beautiful cheerful mess of colors and smile and feel better.
You can vote for me at the link above the image. And I thank you in advance!

The title of this work is Calm,
In the world of chaos and noise one always looks for a quiet place to refresh, meditate and regain strength.
A place of comfort, where the eyes see nothing but the openness and generosity of nature and hope for future. Your face is gracefully touched by the coolness of the wind, and your ears hears nothing but a gentle soothing sound of water ripples that echos through the air. That is a place to reflect, to be still, and to live life in fullness.

Fluidity, Charcoal drawing
One of my favourite artistic endeavour is Charcoal drawing, that is made of free movement in whichever direction the charcoal in my hand wish to go. Thus creating lines that are inspired by music, melodic notes, symbols and signs in an abstract form. In that respect the viewer is open to interpret the work in any way they wish to.

The first image I entered is the one I like the most. It is called "Red Poppies All Around". On a recent hiking tour in the Harz Mountain area in Germany I stumpled upon this field full of so many beautiful red poppies and blue cornflowers. I decided later that I just had to go back there the other day to indulge in the beauty and to take many more photographs to share with the world - so that's what I did, I spent half the day on that field, many people walked by and also took some pictures, one of them confirmed what I thought: I've NEVER seen such a huge beautiful field full of red poppies before! I'm emotional today, it seems, because just writing about it brings tears to my eyes, happy ones, because nature connects and is beautiful. I entered this image to the contest in the hope to make many more people happy just looking at it - life can sometimes be hard, so take a break for a moment and be happy! :)

Although I live not that far away from it, I've never been to the Spree Forest before - so when I did a day trip there recently, I was mesmerized by the beauty, so much green, so many beautiful reflections in the river. By entering this image I hope to promote the area a bit, maybe someone in the US wants to visit Germany, but is searching for some inspiration of where to go, where there is beautiful nature: well, the Spree Forest is definitely one destination I would recommend! And my third entry to the contest is called "Majestic Edinburgh Castle". This is the image that both my mum and sister independently said that this is the image they remember the most from looking over my portfolio (they may be biased, but it also won 2nd place in a contest, so I decided to enter this one as well). I digitally altered this image of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland so much, that it looks and feels like an old historical building (which it is, I just wanted to highlight it). Standing on top of that hill, overlooking all of Edinburgh, mysteriously surrounded by trees (the boyfriend says it was the inspiration for the school in Harry Potter, I trust him that he knows his stuff :D). I think it will look great on a billboard.

Why should I win? I should win because my art resonates and provokes positivity in those who view it. I choose the images with that in mind and how they would best be applied for marketing to promote all artists on FAA. The billboards after all are a representation of not just myself but all of us here.
1) Ice cream cone oil on canvas. I painted this painting to cheer up hospital visitors during the summer as they passed through their gallery to visit the area test would be run. I figured nobody wanted to spend their summer in a hospital and I wanted to create artwork that would make them smile. This painting seems to resonate with most of you who have voted.

We grow our own food. I work really hard to sustain my little piece of the planet and to create art that people will enjoy. This year we've had more hummingbirds and butterflies than usual which thrills me! I can see them out 3 windows from my studio as I work...They inspire me! And of course I am all about a tropical vibe with the hibiscus and as always COLOR!!
Why should I win? Because I believe in myself and in all of the other hard working artists that I get the privilege to work with everyday. I have always been big on "giving back" to this community and any other community I am involved in. Would be a beautiful feeling to win...

I've entered 3 pieces in the FAA Billboard contest, one painting and two whimsical drawings.
My first entry is an example of my figurative and portrait work in oil. “Waiting” is a portrait of a man lost in thought of a past love. For this painting my palette consisted of a variety of umbers.

Thank you Abbie!
I do appreciate the opportunity to share.
This is my FAA description, and I know it needs work.
Meadow Garden In Warm Tones
" This mixed media painting, with its warm tones and painterly brushstrokes, is inspired by nature and my garden. It comes in two colorways and is sure to liven up any room."
I'm exploring programs for AI writing tools. I have been sampling some of the free ones, but I want to invest in the right one, Grammarly doesn't really do the trick. I deal with dyslexia and it's always so overwhelming and confusing for me to write a simple description.
I'm always happy to get feedback on the descriptions.
Why I think it would be a great billboard advertisement is because this artwork is a reflection of my passion for flowers, I was experimenting with a loose painterly style. I believe that the colors and style in this expression of the art would be eye-catching on a billboard. I would hope it would inspire people to come to visit FAA and purchase art and photography from all of the amazing artists on FAA!
Thank you to anyone who votes for my image and good luck!

Each painting is an emotion transferred to the canvas.
The goal is not to win, but to share with people a piece of the soul embedded in the picture.
It seems to me that with Billboard we can share with a lot of souls.

My second entry, is the Bluegill Bream Sunfish. The Bluegill is the most common of all the sunfishes. It is a member of the sunfish or pan fish family. Because it is one of the true sunfish species that grow large enough to be acceptable to fishermen, the Bluegill has introduced many people to the sport of fishing in our area. Its size, tenacious fighting ability and voracious appetite make the Bluegill a favorite of many anglers.
We are surrounded by very large freshwater protected watershed lakes that are filled with all types of freshwater fish, the Bluegill Bream Sunfish being one of the most popular and my reason for choosing this fish for the contest.

This is one of my favorite photos from my journey across Iceland. It captures how sunset glows on a giant glacial iceberg afloat in the Jokulsarlon Lake, also known as the Glacier Lagoon, as one of many kayakers here enjoys the cool waves. More meaningfully, at least to me, was the ominous feeling of this immense mass of ice calved from Europe's largest glacier: Vatnajökull, which plays a huge role in stabilizing climate in the North Atlantic. So, as beautiful and magical as this location appears, the thousands-year-old ice visibly evaporating in the sun shown here, is also a plea for immediate action on climate change.
Please vote for this image to be featured on a Fine Art America Billboard not only to celebrate the beauty of our world, but to help bring awareness to its protection as well.

Nature’s Footprints:
https://fineartamerica.com/contests/billboard-contest-2022.html?tab=vote&artworkid=44368812
More often than not, when we think of the Footprints in the Sand poem our mind but what if the remaining footprints in the sand are that of Mother Nature…when we have lived our lives and walked the sandy beaches and have passed, those beaches and beautiful Earthy landscapes are what remain. Our time is fleeting, but the beauty that Mother Nature holds, carries on.
This photo is an embodiment of that concept, and hits home to me because it is upon these shores that I have grown up, made memories, laughed, cried and continued to carry on and when my time is over, these shores remain and the footprints that will remain will be of Mother Nature’s and the true locals.
Thank you in advance to those who are taking a moment to help me gain votes, I appreciate it so much!

Remnants of a Roadtrip:
https://fineartamerica.com/contests/billboard-contest-2022.html?tab=vote&artworkid=44032574
As a native to the beautiful state of Nevada, and Las Vegas resident, it can be so frustrating to hear people refer to the surrounding desert landscape as dull, barren or just plain ugly. It’s true most of the state is made up of desert with minimal rain each year, but there is so much natural beauty hidden in the dry landscape if you’re willing to explore, but travel unprepared and the harsh desert climate will encompass you and before you know it, the landscape of adventure can turn into a resting spot.
Possibly a bit on the side of morbidity, but this photo captures that very concept. The pure beauty and vibrancy of the landscape and simultaneously, the treacherous climate that must be overcome to enjoy the experience.
This is my first ever photo contest here on Fine Art America and am really REALLY hoping I can pull off at least the 100 votes needed to qualify. 10 seconds of your time would be so appreciated to get this entry into the ranks! Thank you in advance!!!

This is the second of my entries into the billboard contest.
In Oklahoma you know it is spring when you see the Sand plums and the Redbud trees start to bloom. It is a sight for winter worn eyes to see the countryside filled with the white and purple blooms and is one of the things I love most about this state. The wild plum blossoms are some of my favorites because of their long stamens that give them a comical look, the contrast of their bright yellow pollen against the delicate white petals and their habit of clumping together as if they were keeping each other warm on the crisp spring mornings.
I think this would make a great winning image because people need beauty in their everyday lives and especially as they are driving home from a long tiring day at work, to be able to look up and see these cute and funny blossoms might be a bright spot in their otherwise dull day and remind them that the world is still beautiful.

"A Portrait, Of A Cosmo, In Photographic Charcoal Sapphire Design"
My first entry, into the 2022 Bill Board Contest. It is my most recent work.
A Portrait, Of A Cosmo comes in 22 different colour shades. I chose the charcoal Jordy Blue design, to represent them all, as the colour blue is extremely popular among people.
Cosmos, comes from the Greek word “kosmos”, and represents: peace, love, balance, harmony, tranquility, modesty, innocence, joy, and beauty.
Cosmos, are one of the easiest flowers to grow, has a long blooming season, attracting butterflies and birds.
These cheerful and charming flowers are pest-free and low-maintenance plants.
And edible, just perfect to be seen on a Bill Board, during the harvest season and the Thanksgiving Holiday.

I decided to add Fire In The Hole as my third entry into the contest to give it another try. This was taken at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur. It is quite a nail-biting drive on Highway 1 to get there. The sunset only shines through the rock during a specific time during the winter and there is no way to guarantee that the weather will cooperate to get the shot because fog is common. I had come here previously on a foggy day and the result was quite different than when I returned to get this shot. I think this would make a good billboard, because it is quite dramatic how the warm light floods through the rock and it would draw attention to the billboard.

I AM NOT A GOOD SALESPERSON! I have a lot of trouble asking people to do/buy/help/vote for things they might not otherwise. I went out of my comfort zone for this contest and hope that I get enough votes to move forward. I entered 2 images that I love and that have won competitions in my local camera clubs. I'm a very competitive person, but when someone say No, thanks, I respect their decison and keep going. I'm sure this why my sales are low, but people love my images. That being said I have posted on FB, Twitter and IG and will post on a few other big sites. I know the competition here is stiff...so many super talented folks, but if I don't try, if I don't enter I can't possibly win!!! So, out of my comfort zone, it is! Good Luck to everyone!

My first time going to South Tufas at Mono Lake in California. The Tufas are rock like formations made out of calcium carbonate, limestone. While many other photographers were focusing on a grand landscape, I decided to go for something different and found this intimate landscape.
This was not an easy task as the limestone was everywhere so, I had to walk carefully in order not to break any. I found this arch and decided to wait for the sun to align perfectly with it. This meant that I had to kneel on and amongst the limestone which was quite painful and patiently wait with my tripod. While I got the shot, capturing the magic of the sun and its rays coming through the arch, I lost one of my tripod spikes.

Prophetic art, in its simplest explanation, is the visual form of prophecy. It is art that carries a message from the heart of God to strengthen, encourage and comfort. Whether it speaks to one individual, a congregation, or the Body of Christ overall, it is a gift of blessing, birthed in the heart of an artist who loves God and loves His people.
This is one of my favorite angels!

My hometown, Manson, Iowa was established in 1872 as a tiny village on the Illinois Central railroad. In 1900, the Rock Island line also came through town. A devastating tornado ripped through the in 1979 and destroyed nearly all of our landmark buildings. This is one of several images I've created to honor the memory of the lives lost and legacies lost. The Illinois Central Railroad ran east and west and the Rock Island Railroad ran north and south. But what if both lines ran parallel? And what if both locomotives showed up at the same time? And what if the billowing smoke from the steam engines gathered overhead to create the most beautiful sunset imaginable? Imagine how proud my fellow Mansonites would be to see their heritage on display, larger than life, for all the world to see. Share the joy by voting for "Two Railroads Converge at Manson" in the 2022 Billboard Contest.

Stallion at Rest
I believe that wild horses are a part of America's history and heritage. This is one of my favorite stallions from Utah's west desert standing quietly as the sun comes up. Spending time with these horses is one of my greatest joys. I have learned so much about their strength, determination and devotion to family. I have seen them grieve over a fallen comrade. I have seen them gather around a newborn to protect it from the sun and allow it to nap in the shade of their bodies. I have seen an older stallion adopt and protect a young horse that lost it's family in a recent round-up. This image represents a part of America that we could lose. These horses need to be seen and learned about. They need to remain in the American west. To have this on a billboard could help raise attention to the struggle to keep them free. Any support is greatly appreciated.

A solitary beachcomber walks along the beach as the sun goes down. The image evokes a feeling I share, of being free, without needing to be entangled. You can be alone and enjoy great peace without being lonely. From walking the beach alone and reflecting, to dining alone at a restaurant, it doesn't mean that you are lonely, nor missing something. It means that you are strong and confident and comfortable with yourself. At peace. Any support for this image is greatly appreciated.

Hello!
In the past, I was not a big fan of winter. Since I started painting winter landscapes, I've become much more appreciative of the beauty of winter landscapes--especially when sun is shining on freshly fallen snow, creating cool blue and purple shadows. That has prompted me to go on outdoor excursions on cold winter days to enjoy the scenery. Since this contest will include billboards on display during the winter, and in cities like Chicago, I'd love to see this season's landscapes represented. Maybe others, who are not big fans of winter, will also be drawn into more of an appreciation of winter's beauty.

This image symbolizes "taking the time to stop and smell the flowers". I believe that is what artists do, and their created artwork gives the viewer the encouragement to pause and ponder the wonders that surround us. This painting depicts many examples of beauty and creative efforts to appreciate...the beauty of dance and the dancer, the beauty of nature, the beauty of the dress design, the beauty of a painting. It's my wish that art enriches lives and encourages people to contemplate creation and make time to stop and smell the flowers. Driving by a billboard on a busy highway may serve as a reminder that life's journey should include some time to stop and smell the flowers.

Sometimes it's good to look up. I've spent many hours walking through forests and enjoying the calm, majestic beauty there. Most of the time I looked at the path ahead of me, the path behind me, or the forest floor. I love seeing the patterns of shadows on the ground from tree trunks and branches. I used to paint many eye level views of forest landscapes. These days, at some point on walks, I tend to stop and look up at the sky through the trees, I think of the years of growth and the tree seeking the sunshine. It takes effort to find things that give us life. Sometimes it takes a change of perspective.
People will be looking up at the billboards. I think it's suiting that this painting is in the perspective of looking up.

Hi everyone!
My entry for the contest is a photograph taken on a warm, sunny autumn day when the red and orange colored leaves were complemented by the sun and the sun rays were peaking through the branches.
I chose this image for its vivid red and orange colors and for the composition. Also, the autumn theme might go nicely with the time-frame of the billboard campaign.
If you like my image and still have votes available, I would be honored to receive your vote!

These days it seems that our historic landmarks in Florida are in danger of disappearing. Historic homes and hotels from the 1920's full of charm are almost 100 years old and in need of major repair. They create a beautiful charm in the cities with their architectural details. They remind us of our past and the early years when people started settling in Florida and life was much different.
Here in Venice, Florida many home owners have restored these beautiful historic homes. There is a movement to limit the height of buildings downtown to keep this historic charm and small town feel. In historic Mount Dora, Florida near Orlando there is a similar movement.
I have lived in Florida 13 years and there has been a huge influx of new people moving here. The demand for housing and new buildings is very high. As our historic structures deteriorate developers have demolished some gems of our history and replaced them with modern high rise buildings, forever changing the feel of towns. Thankfully some people have dedicated their time and resources to preserve the remaining historic buildings.
Many people move to our smaller towns for their historic charm. My town Venice, Florida is especially known for its charming main street area of downtown and has received awards for its beauty. So many people in Venice love living here and take pride in our city. People who move away miss our city very much. I have lived in a couple different areas of Florida and can say there is something very special here.
One of the little details of historic charm in our downtown are historic clocks on the street. They remind me of similar old clocks I've seen in historic Pennsylvania from the 1800's. I enjoy capturing the historic charm of our town. This clock on Miami Avenue was perfect during a warm sunset. Standing proudly against the warm pinks and yellows of the sky the clock is honoring our historic past that we want to preserve.
Having a billboard in Florida with this message would make a powerful and much needed statement that many locals in Florida would appreciate! I hear this message of the need for historic preservation all the time in local Florida Facebook groups. I also think this image is very eye-catching for people driving by a billboard.
This image was also the theme photo for a series of articles in our local paper about preserving historic buildings in our town. It was also published on the cover of our city's calendar this year.

Standing here under the Venice Fishing Pier in Florida is one of my favorite places to take photos. I love looking out into infinity and hearing the waves as they come in, feeling the sand in-between my toes, the salty sea breeze blowing through my hair. I watch each moment of light change as the sun drops below the horizon. It is an endless display of beauty mixing liquid and light, and a reminder that no matter how my day went, it can always end beautifully. This is my happy place right here on the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast of Florida.
"It is almost impossible to watch a sunset and not dream." ~ Bern Williams
"Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
One of the main goals of my images is to create a sense of peace and tranquility, which is so needed nowadays. I think it would be amazing to help drivers feel that as they see this image on a billboard.

Digitally re-mastered abstract, graphic design based on a fragment of my original painting portraying fragmented, geometrically distorted shapes and flowing waves in hues of black, red, purple, yellow, pink, green, blue, pink and white.
Abstract art is an art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead uses shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect. In the words of the famous Wassily Kandinsky.

Michigan is known for lighthouses along its coast on Lake Michigan. Their light guides boats along the shore to a safe area inland.
Here in Holland, Michigan stands a beautiful big red lighthouse on a channel that connects Lake Michigan with Lake Macatawa. "Big Red" is also known as Holland Harbor Light. The original structure was built in 1872 and the current structure was built in 1907. It has a gabled roof which reflects the Dutch influence in the area. This is a view of the lighthouse across the channel from Holland State Park at blue hour right after sunset.
Locals enjoy sailing their boats here in the summer. I have family members who have a lot of memories coming here at Holland State Park to fish and watch the boats coming in. I also have family who have boats and have been enjoying the waters of the Lake for decades. Enjoying the outdoors, beach and nature is part of the culture here.
The people riding the sailboat in this image have been out on a late summer day enjoying the view of the sun as it sets on the horizon. The glimmer of the remaining light of the sun cast a warm color on the sails as the boat enters the canal to Lake Macatawa. They are finally home.
This image would be enjoyed on a billboard especially by people who live in areas near Lake Michigan, like Chicago, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. The lake is a big part of life in these areas with weather, recreation, and tourism. In the fall/winter when the billboard is up and the weather is cold this image would bring back memories of the summer on the lake.

*Ribbon Awareness Tree* because awareness is represented by many colors. This artist chose a Cherry Blossom tree branch, since the wonky changes in its branches show how people can feel going through medical procedures and taking necessary medications for treatment. But, the flowers represent the healing and mental strength to overcome obstacles by will and determination. It is flowering in PINK for Breast Cancer, BLUE for Fibromyalgia, and PURPLE for Lymphedema. The WHITE and glitter represent the gleam of passion unwavering in the artist's eyes, since she lost sight in one during aggressive chemo. Her tree shows she wants everyone to know she still FEELS beautiful knowing LIFE is TOO short to be anything BUT happy! And, she will continue painting by hand to lift up others to give them hope through faith and positive vibrations :)

*Fantasy Garden Butterfly* lifts viewers up on beautiful wings! This butterfly and flowers were painted from imagination for the love of art and beauty in this original landscape. It is hoped that this passion painted by loving hand shows through in this art canvas composition. The artist uses THIS particular image for the curtain for her studio window, so at night the Monarch butterfly and flower garden can be seen from outside when the light is on! There is nothing better than knowing it makes people smile :)

*Fuzzy Pussy Willows* features an abstract background to create a wildflower garden setting for the Pussy Willow branches and butterflies. There is also a magnificent dragonfly, if you look more closely? The artist adores these organic colors with accents of copper in her original, hand painted composition on canvas; to bring your eyes to the light, as it's a painting she has on her OWN wall at home!

Moonlit baobab trees in a dark starry sky seen in our safari camp in Tanzania's Tarangire National Park. This iconic type of tree, sometimes referred to as an upside-down tree, is found only in parts of Africa, Arabia, and Australia. The African night sky is truly a marvelous sight.
As we were photographing this scene, the park ranger guarding our camp was insistent that we go into our tents for the night and not stay out, even though the trees were well within the camp boundaries. He said it was dangerous to be out. The next morning, we understood why. A pride of lions had come through the camp during the night and knocked over all of the shower water buckets, probably looking for water.
Featured as National Geographic's Photo of the Day, June 2010.
Would love to share this incredible night and memory with the world.

I entered three, and all of them are closing in on the longed for for 100!
The first on my list was also the first one this year. I wanted to paint something about hope, aspiring, reaching for the perfection of light. Rarely do I create an image so prismatic in color scheme, with virtually no dark. There is a swirling air of sweeping out dust and allowing vibrant new growth. Strong, colorful, attention getting artwork for a billboard.
https://fineartamerica.com/contests/billboard-contest-2022.html?tab=vote&artworkid=41914653
Secondly, a personal favorite. I have been painting our grandson since he was born. As he's grown, the artwork has expanded in theme and rendering. This one shows him collecting something at water's edge, in a translucent container. The light shimmer and sparkles around him, making him into an impression of a moment in time. It is a limited palette with a lot of nuance. Contrasting color scheme and dazzling light make this a powerful visual for a billboard.
https://fineartamerica.com/contests/billboard-contest-2022.html?tab=vote&artworkid=34092280
Thirdly, one of my loves: a dramatic sky. While driving out in the morning, this Angel wing of a cloud dominated the sky. Against the purple shadows, it paints a subtle contrast. I liked the strong diagonal of the road and the vanishing point from that and the fence, which balances the warmth and boldness of the left side of the painting
My only horizontal entry, and the most traditional in style and rendering. Bold work suitable for the large scale.

I am a 17 year old artist from London hoping to study at UAL. Supporting me now would be the very start of what I hope to be a wonderful and special career. This is a painting that I made in the first lock down and its main theme is freedom, take that however you understand the image itself. It also reflects on sea life and climate change in some sense. I focused in on the relationship between wildlife and humans.

Brilliant autumn foliage on a famous laceleaf maple tree in Portland's Japanese Garden. This garden in Oregon is widely considered to be the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan. In 1979, a devastating tornado ripped through my hometown of Manson, Iowa, demolishing much of the business district and most of the stately old churches. During the past few years, I've been attempting to capture fleeting memories of those long lost buildings. The village was established in 1872 on the Illinois Central railroad. Then, 28 years later, the Rock Island line also came through town. The ICRR ran east and west and the RIRR ran north and south. But what if both lines ran parallel? And what if both locomotives showed up at the same time? And what if the billowing smoke from the steam engines gathered overhead to create the most beautiful sunset imaginable? Those were the questions I attempted to answer in my digital painting, "Two Railroads Converge at Manson". Imagine how proud my fellow Mansonites will be to see their tiny town featured on billboards towering over cities and fields across the land. Please consider voting for them.

Fully bloomed white peony with one pale pink bud over green background.Pale pink in buds, the guard petals open cream colored before gradually fading to pure white still maintaining in its fluffy center a hint of yellow.
The peony is named after Paeon (also spelled Paean), a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing. In Greek mythology, when Asclepius became jealous of his pupil, Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower.
In Japanese culture peony symbolizes good fortune, bravery and honor.
Peonies tend to attract ants to the flower buds. This is due to the nectar that forms on the outside of the flower buds, and is not required for the plants' own pollination or other growth. The presence of ants is thought to provide some deterrence to other harmful insects though, so the production of ant-attracting nectar is plausibly a functional adaptation.

I am far short of the number of votes required, which seems kind of pathetic. I think if you submit a work of art for the contest, it should be something that stands on its own, gets exclamations from random people, pushed you to learn in some way, something you keep coming back to with a smile.

Here's the world map with "The World" translated to many spoken languages (60 probably).
This artwork is intended to create a cultural and global awareness between nations, and bridge the gaps between all human kind living on this huge planet called Earth, which brings us closer together to communicate and share all the resources responsively.
Art in any form is a powerful media to express and share our thoughts to the entire population, I’m sure you will try to locate ‘The World’ in your language, hopefully you’ll find it. Sorry if you don't see your language in the design, because I got all the information from "Google Translate", which is a fantastic software to translate anything to any language.
This artwork is great display to show my point of view to others: No language barriers, we all are sharing this world together.
The text in the design is scattered randomly in size and position which fits the best with the context.

Mike,
>" I think if you submit a work of art for the contest, it should be something that stands on its own."
This is not how it works in the Billboard contest.
There is no Search button within the contest. Therefore the only real way for people to see your image is if that image is among the Leaderboard images. There are 500 images on the Leaderboard, As of today, there are around 15 thousand images uploaded to the Billboard contest. Your work could "stands on its own" only if people could see it. To make it work, you HAVE TO solicit and get votes.
If you missed that train (the Leaderboard images), then the only thing you could still do is to vote for images in the Leaderboard, which you like to help them to get over the 100 votes threshold.
Here is the link to my entry in the Billboard contest - https://fineartamerica.com/contests/billboard-contest-2022.html?tab=vote&artworkid=42876688.
I have gotten 44 votes so far.

I don't have a dog in this hunt so I saved my votes until the last few days. I will use them on images that are close to 100 to help give them that final push. Good luck everyone.

Only 27 more votes needed to make it to the next level!
I am a artist in Berkshire County MA recovering from my fourth spine surgery. Painting has been a part of my heart and soul my entire life. I have been volunteering to paint with children in the local court system as well as the near cities library. I had painted stationery for Crane Stationery for many years but they sold out to another company and moved out of the area.
I would greatly appreciate your vote’s.

So the snow is falling along with the temperature, which is one of the best times to get out and take a walk with nature and the one you love.
You will appreciate the fire and hot cocoa all the more when you get home

I still need 39 votes. Probably I am not gonna make it in time to 100. Nevertheless, here is my entry

Only 24 more votes needed for this image to qualify for the juried round. It would look great on a billboard in Chicago during the winter!
Here's my sales pitch...
In the past, I was not a big fan of winter. Since I started painting winter landscapes, I've become much more appreciative of the beauty of the winter season--especially when sun is shining on freshly fallen snow, creating cool blue and purple shadows.

Edit...
And now ONLY 23 more votes needed. Thank you to all who are voting in the contest!

As I see this contest and thus any billboard, for that matter, the “purpose” of it’s image is to capture the attention of passererbys first and foremost. And one of the main ways to do that is with Colors bold and bright! Thusly I think my abstract titled “Playing With Color”, would do the job perfectly. Many thanks for any votes you all give me.

I have a few votes I'll give to those who are close to 25 and want the free shirt - only one per member. Send me a pm and include the voting link to the image you want me to vote on
I've already taken a look at images close to both 100 and 250 and cast the votes I want to there, but I can't "see" those of you who are at 23, 24, with less than an hour to go.

Well August 2022 Billboard show has been fun!!!
Thank YOU FAA/pixels for this annual tradition, it's great for community.
I cast my final 2 votes, not seeing anyone tettering on the edge of moving forward or T-shirt; I scrolled thru to pg 70 where the first entries were... and cast one there... and then picked a pg in the show to explore finding a great entry with zero votes...
I'm thinking every artwork should automatically receive our own vote just for working as hard as we do here! So here's to everyone's a winner that entered every one of us 6,658 artist entering 17,465 artworks! We are the WINNERS b/c we make FAA/pixels spin worldwide. GJ glorijean
