In this picture, I depicted a surfer on the beach of Santa-Catarina. A young and happy surfer glides through the waves on a red surfboard. Powerful and beautiful waves carry the surfer to the beach. A young and muscular surfer perfectly balances on a big wave. The spray is flying in different directions. A powerful wave looks bright and abstract.

"When Cardinals Appear - Sunflower Bloom" by Patti Deters. A male cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) flies onto a bright yellow sunflower, as if appearing from out of nowhere. There is a saying "When cardinals appear, angels are near" which some believe means a loved one is saying hello from heaven. This red bird was flitting and flying around a huge field of sunflowers, perhaps hoping some of the seeds were ready to eat, though many of the flowers were just starting to open up. Several textures and blending techniques were used to create the soft artistic painterly effect of this vertical portrait. Echo Lake-Acadia National Park came in 3rd 3 days ago in "Summer Joy at the Lake" contest.
