Somebody asked Ernst Hemingway once to tell a 6 word story. After thinking a little bit he said: Baby shoes for sale, never worn
Years ago, in a group that no longer exist (I think), we had a thread about six word stories and we liked it. Maybe people like it here too.
One post should not relate to another. The stories must live on their own and one story per post please

ATTENTION PLEASE
I saw a few posts that are very inappropriate and hurtful to many. I asked to posters to delete them
Please refrain from stories about tragic events or stories that could be construed as such or might be related somehow.
No politics, no violence, no religion, or any other principle you might be attached to, but others might not. It is also against the forum rules
Because this is supposed to be a fun thread that many enjoy, I really do not want to close this thread, but I will in a heartbeat if I need to
Thank you very much
Rudy
(and I know this is more than six words...)

My apologies Bob Decker I was not aware of that, sorry if my image shares were against rules. Thank you for that information.
I happen to love this thread, think it is a smart idea.

In case nobody has posted this one, it's probably the most famous 6 word story in the English language because the entire European world changed. Ironically, it's equally famous as a 3 word story in its original Latin. It's "I came, I saw, I conquered", the opening lines in Julius Caesar's famous book on the Gallic Wars. In Latin, however, it's just Veni Vidi Vici....3 words.

It's a 3 word story in its original Latin, but a concise 6 word story in English, the first line from Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars Commentaries - Veni Vidi Vici. He was a master of precision and brevity.
I came, I saw, I conquered.

Funny, I had the sentence after the haiku, before I read the previous two posts pertaining to dreams. A poetic dreamy synchronicity.😜

Famous one - I came, I saw, I conquered.....although in Latin it's only 3 words, Veni, Vidi, Vici.

C'mon, y'all! You are *artists*, not bankers (unless, of course, you are artist-bankers, a minority group if there ever was one ;-)
6 words strung together make a *sentence*, not a story. Hemingway's "baby shoes, unworn" creates suspense, makes you wonder about the people -- what happened to the baby? Was it avoidable? Why sell the shoes?.... I'm throwing down the gauntlet today: hows 'bout we make them short stories. It's challenging, for sure.....but artists like challenges!
