Ignoring Your Own Visits

I get emails asking where to find the area to turn off your own visits, so here it is https://fineartamerica.com/controlpanel/statistics.html?tab=visitors

Do remember however, if you are on a dynamic IP then you would have to keep adding that as your IP changes

I always have to keep checking that now and then because my IP changes now and then.

Thank you for this - I thought it had disappeared forever. I wish it could be fixed so our own views are never counted. Maybe I should make this suggestion?

Just to show my incredible ignorance of all things PC, what the HE double hockey sticks is "a dynamic IP"? :O)

IP is how the web recognises you... Computer address. We all have our own unique IP that routers read.

So, static IP means your router keeps the same IP all the time
Dynamic means you move home lol. No, it changes the IP each time you turn it on

Also Bill, if you have a dynamic IP, you may share it with others who use your Internet provider. A static IP address is just you and is more secure. Your provider.should be able to set you up with one (usually for a fee).

So is it best to keep showing one’s own visits?

It is totally up to you. Nobody else really cares who visits our work... tbh
