Typical Spam Comment - Email

I got one similar back in November through my AW that went like this:

Love to buy an art piece

I would greatly appreciate if you
could possibly recommend a few completed original piece ready for
immediate sale within my budget ( $450- $4,500 ). Just need something
within that price range. My wife I can tell she likes your work and a painting
from you would be the best Wedding Anniversary gift. I would
appreciate if you can figure out a piece of work that would serve that
purpose. Kindly email images and prices of any available works in that
range. Thanks you

I would consider tat a scam comment as opposed to spam. Spam promotes a product. A scam is an attempt to use false pretenses to part you from your money.
And then there is the one I got yesterday from "Pretty Woman" who left her hotmail address. That is somewhere in between but probably more product then scam.

but usually its the opening one, just the location changes - i'm on an oil rig, out doing something its my wife, my husband etc.

As regarding shipping, you don't have to worry about that in order not to leave any clue to my wife for the surprise. as soon as you receive and cash the check, my shipping agent (who is also moving my personal effect) will contact you to arrange pick-up.

I would have come to purchase the piece myself but, at the moment, am on training voyage to the North Atlantic Ocean (I'm an ocean engineer) with new hires who are fresh from graduate school and won't be back for another couple of weeks.

I received this message this week and did not respondt it.

I got one from China years ago, where they wanted to use my picture for a toilet seat cover, and they wanted it for free! They said they were a start up company and didn't have the money to purchase the image. I said, No Thanks!

Yeah, don't respond, even with a negative comment. When you respond, you go into the database as a real person and lists of real persons sell for more on the market.
