Do I Get A Discount When I Buy My Own Images

It is surprising how often we get asked this, or perhaps not .....

When you order your own products, our system automatically applies the discount for you before you add the products to your shopping cart.

All you have to do is make sure that you're logged in to your account before you start adding items to your shopping cart, and you'll be all set.

To see how this works, login to your account, and then try to purchase one of your images as a "framed print". On the order configuration page (i.e. where you select the frames, mats, etc.), you'll see a link underneath the price that says "Show Price Details". Click there, and you'll see the regular price along with your discounted price.

Simple as that

If you are purchasing 25 images or more then please send the cart number (small number under the cart when it has something in it) to CUSTOMER SUPPORT https://fineartamerica.com/contactus.html?tab=contactus and they will let you know if that cart is due a further discount. It will depend on amount and what items there are. Always worth a try.

Can we get 25 different prints?

I believe it is more for when people do exhibitions and are selling prints of an image.... So it would be for a run of the same one normally.

However, if it was for framed, or larger ones, etc then it's definitely worth a try

do i get sales credit when i buy my own images? What If i dont take the discount and get paid for it later?

I don't see how you can call not getting charged for the use of your own image a "discount". In reality, there is no discount. If you buy without logging in, you pay the full price including your markup but you get it back on the appropriate payday and you get credit for the sale for search ranking. The price you end up paying is the same either way.

If you buy when logged in you simply do not have to pay your own markup but it does not count for search ranking. But no printer charges you for the use of your own images anyway.

thats what I thought floyd..so if I by 100 photographs of one scene, i will increase in the rankings. HMMM ,,gaming the system?

No it will not help in the search buying your own images when logged in

What if I logged out. I pay commission but get it back inn a month plus I get points on amex and then increase rankings?

That is the way I do it, John. That is what we have been told in the past. I bought a few samples early on when I first joined and a phone cover or two and a few other products. But I don't buy from FAA at all anymore.

Here is one of the things that bugs me. Any buyer at Designer Prints can buy my work from FAA for less than I can and they only have to buy one of my prints. But if they buy enough other art to get the 75% discount, they can buy one of mine and get if for 75% discount.

I get it, they have to buy more than one on a yearly, vetted, basis but bought a large enough order overall to get that 75%. That is great for FAA but it's not so great for me.

So if they buy just one of my images, say a 24x36 they only have to pay $93.25 for it. If I buy it myself, I have to pay $183. What that actually means is that a DS buyer can retail my work to the public for just about what I have to pay for it and double his money.

Not sure if that math is right but you get the idea.

There should be some kind of policy that says an artist buying his own work only has to pay the amount that is equal to the losest price that any of his images sold for through Designer Prints, IMHO.

Well, I have told people in the top post what happens, Floyd. Thank you for your thoughts but this thread is about what DOES happen,. not what people want to happen
