How Do I Have A Transparent Image On A Tshirt Or Other Product - Explanation

PNG images have the transparent background but obviously you cannot have transparency as a preview image so when you load it you must save that PNG for the top image (prints) to a JPG. On products it will be transparent.

You then scroll down the page and customise the other products with your transparent image

To create a PNG you remove the background in your photo editor. You then EXPORT the image retaining transparency. You cannot do this on a mobile device.

Abbie,

So, I assume that in Photoshop there is someplace to "remove the background", how do I "select" the part of the image I want to be the blank background? For my cars, might be easy, but other images, seems like a lot of work/image....maybe Yotube videos for learning....???

I do not teach Photoshop, I am sorry. You will need to check their tutorials for Photoshop help.

for a gif file, as long as the background is blank, you can choose a the color you want to represent the transparent part. but not for png, you need to physically cut out the background. there are a thousand ways to it. some good, some bad. even the software has a mix of being easy and hard. it really depends on what your cutting, and what the background looks like.

I make PNG graphics all the time with transparent backgrounds so I can easily add and/or change the background color. I often render fractals in PNG as well. No need to cutout the fractal or graphic--> just make the transparent layer the desired color if you want a color background.

Of course, a standard image from a camera saved to a PNG file would need to be cutout.

Cheers

You can also remove backgrounds in Microsoft Power Point. Then save as PNG file :)

You can also search under chroma key. That is how green screen filming is done.
