About this Group

Aether ArtThe purpose of this group is to collect a grouping of digital art techniques that are easily distinguishable as Aether Art but resemble the traditional techniques. These include: any artwork drawn onto a blank digital canvas; any digital image created exclusively by the artist that is no longer identifiable as a photo and impresses upon the viewer that they are experiencing artwork resembling a painting, water color, pastel, pencil sketch, illustration, charcoal, in short Aether Art is digitally created to resemble artwork made in a “traditional” way.

We as artist express ourselves in the way that our creativity can best be expressed. For me that has been Aether Art. I respect those who use the traditional methods to achieve these goals and feel that we should clearly distinguish how our art is created. Hopefully this term can catch on and when we say “My art is Aether Art” more people will understand and appreciate our chosen method of expression - art created with a computer. This is in no way intended to be a form of “Art Police” but rather an attempt to provide a way of appreciating both traditional and Aether Art while presenting in the group only the computer created form. Painters use a brush, we use a mouse; both require talent and mastering of the methods used to create the final product.

GUIDELINES:
- Family friendly images (or marked not safe for work), no text overlays, no commercial art, no celebrity art, no photos of paintings (your own or copyright free).
- Submissions will be reviewed at least weekly. (Fridays)
- New images representing the concept of Aether Art will be featured weekly.
