Description
Instruments and apparatus to correct medical conditions include tweezers or lithotomy forceps known as d'helvetiennes, a machine to correct a hunchback, lancets, devices to relieve hernias, one of which is a Le Dran hernial bistoury, and a bandage to contain a hernia. Lithotomy is a surgical method for removal of calculi, stones formed inside certain hollow organs, such as the bladder and kidneys and gallbladder, that cannot exit naturally through the urethra, ureter or biliary duct.
