Description
Ah yes, the ubiquitous paper airplane folded from a magazine cover, and not just any magazine. I have a whole stack of these saved from my youth, and none of them are in collectable condition, because I actually read them over and over, as kids are apt to do. So what to do with them? Why not fold them into paper airplanes. That's almost as good a use of my time as reading them in the first place.
As an aside, you should know that this is a parody of issue No. 156, January, 1973, "Fiddler Made A Goof!", with a cover price of .40 cents CHEAP, and has an Alfred E. Neuman illustration by Norman Mingo adorning the cover. -YoPedro
Oddly enough, the impact this magazine had on me; to this day I still use the phrase, "Fiddler Made A Goof!" whenever the movie "Fiddler on the Roof" is mentioned or comes on TV.
My collection is paltry, not much to brag about, and certainly not impressive by any standard what so ever. I've poured over these magazines too many times to remember, and I was often too young to understand many of the subtle references that were scattered throughout the pages. When I page through these old magazines, I'm often surprised at the humor, it's often far too sophisticated for who I was back when these came out.
Still, I enjoyed them quite a bit, and all these years later, they still make me smile.
They have no real value as collectors issues, so I use them today as best I can, making art from their old dusty covers, and maybe helping to keep them alive for another young collector, just in a different form. -YoPedro
